AIDS Awareness Tour

On April 6, 2005, Camp Heartland and GE Healthcare launched a 4-week national AIDS awareness bus tour to promote HIV/AIDS education, testing and compassion. Starting in Minneapolis, the tour travelled throughout the Midwest and Western states ending in Los Angeles on April 27.
Twenty-one children and young adults, all of whom are directly impacted by HIV/AIDS, travelled along with the Camp Heartland staff on the Journey of Hope Tour. These courageous speakers are either living with HIV/AIDS, have family members with the disease or have lost loved ones to AIDS. They shared their thoughts on what it is like to live with a life-threatening disease, their experiences of telling friends and neighbors and their hopes for the future. Through more than 30 presentation in 12 cities, these courageous young people impacted thousands of lives. Find out more about their incredible journey below:
