Staff
A Year-Round Staff
Each year, nearly 100 people join our staff to make camp possible. From camp counselors and nurses, to social workers and the kitchen crew, folks from all over come together to lend their talents to make Camp Heartland magical.
Camp Heartland boasts a well rounded year-round staff of program and development professionals and experts in the non-profit and camping realm. Camp Heartland houses this staff in two corporate offices in Milwaukee, WI and Minneapolis, MN.
During the summer, we hire approximately 40 individuals to fill seasonal summer camp positions. These people live on site and work with us for nearly two months, either in the cabins as cabin counselors, or in support roles leading activities and doing behind-the-scenes work. We also hire fabulous folks from the local community to cook delicious food and to take care of our beautiful site.
We have a high number of alumni staff who return yearly to volunteer during summer sessions and our seasonal mini-sessions as counselors, camp assistants, medical and psychosocial staff and site staff. Our entire staff meet the challenge of funding and operating an exceptional organization each year!
We are lucky to have had many wonderful, talented people who have joined our staff teams over the years. Whether paid or unpaid, each of our staff members has contributed to the important community that exists today. Thank you to everyone who has worked with us... you truly have made a difference!
