Getting Kids to Camp!
Because children attend Camp Heartland's camp sessions from across the U.S., Camp Heartland must arrange travel for nearly 600 children each year. The majority of the children fly commercial airlines to Minneapolis, or Los Angeles, where they meet staff and fellow campers and ride a bus to camp. Camp Heartland has been very grateful for continued support and discounted fares by Northwest Airlines for more than seven years. Increasing support of Camp Heartland from Angel Flight, a non-profit organization of pilots who fly campers to camp in their private planes has been critical to Camp Heartland programs. Finally, Camp Heartland receives a number of donated tickets and continued support each year from Midwest Airlines.
